Skål International 90th Anniversary: Message from Michael Volckaert
Michael Volckaert
Skål International Paris
On the occasion of the 90th anniversary of Skål International, allow me, as the grandson of Florimond Volckaert, to extend my warmest congratulations to all the members who, from near or far, have contributed to the success of this great adventure which is Skål International.
I would like to take this opportunity to extend my warmest thanks to Skål International Paris, its President Karine Coulanges and especially Bruno Pelletier, who is doing a remarkable job of looking after my grandfather's grave in the Père Lachaise cemetery.
Two years after its creation in Paris, the founding members, in particular Florimond Volckaert, put forward the idea of extending Skål International internationally. Today, we can only applaud the success of this excellent initiative. Skål International is active in 82 countries representing 309 clubs.
It goes without saying that my grandfather Florimond Volckaert would have been very proud of this extraordinary development throughout the world.
On the eve of this 90th anniversary, may the motto “If all the guys in the world could join hands” continue to be conveyed by the members of all Skål International clubs.
To all of you, friends of Skål International throughout the world, I wish you Happiness; Good Health; Friendship; Long Life; Skål!
Michael Volckaert
